We're looking for replacements for our our in-game character voices. If you're a voice actor and this is something you'd like to help us with, we'd love to see your voice included in the game. You can download the placeholder voices that are attached below.
Note: A submission isn't a guarantee we will use your voice in the game. We may wait to select the best fit we receive. Also, if your voice is selected, it's not a guarantee it will remain throughout the whole project. If you submit your voice and you're selected, we would like it if you'd remain available for us to ask for more submissions in the future.
Thank you for your help! We appreciate it.
Requirements:
Follow the submission instructions by posting your submissions on the forums or by direct messaging them to one of the Content Sherpa's.
Quality: Your work must be equal or better than the source material.
Format: Please submit your audio in a lossless format like .wav 48000kHz 16bit/24bit PCM or similar. The format we gave is what's used in Unreal Engine.
Length: You're welcome to submit improvised versions, but they should be close to the same length.
Source Material:
Attached below are the source materials that need replaced.
Information for Lorna (Female)
We want strong authoritarian vibes for Lorna like in the recording. A British accent isn't a hard requirement, but we think it adds a nice touch. You're welcome to submit with any accent.
Lorna_L_M1_1_ReclamationElevatorOn_VoiceActorSample.wav
What!? An Echo? Why would you do that!? You turned the elevator back ON. What do you think you're doing? Do you have any idea what is actually going on down there? I guess you're going to find out... We're all going to find out.
Information for Velma (Female)
You probably noticed the change of pitch from the intro to the second dialogue. When the game starts, Velma is given a reduced pitch. The later audio is her unaltered voice. We want the player to be nervous about the voice at first, but then for her to feel more approachable. It's simulating a wakeup effect as if the player was drugged. Also, the Velma_Intro_and_Death_Dialogues.mp4 file is split into many different audio files like for the "wakeup" sequence. We can split them up for you if you want to record it all in one go. Or you can record the parts separately. We will be applying pitch changes to your voice at the start, so there's no need for you to experiment with that unless it's something that you want to play with. If you do, include the original and your modified versions.

Wait, head back. Security's coming that way. I opened a hatch for you. Use it and sneak by them on the catwalks.
Velma_V_M1_3_ReclamationEscape3.wav
Good, I think you evaded them. I need you to figure out how to escape this level. It shouldn't be too difficult... A little exploration should help. Look around and find a way out. I will help you when I can.
Velma_V_M1_4_ReclamationExplanation.wav
You're probably wondering what is going on. I can't tell you everything, but I can tell you how you got here. I sent you a small explanation in your datapad. When you have time, open it.
Velma_Intro_and_Death_Dialogues.mp4
Intro
Wake up. I need you to wake. Please... Wake up. We don't have much time. Quickly now... (Character drops) They're after us and they'll be here soon. (Character grunts and stands up) Goodboy. Now listen... There's a terminal on the right side of the room. I need you to access it. Find the door code to open the door. Also, I left more instructions for you in your datapad.
Character Death/Respawn 1
Hello there new Echo. I appologize for that little shock. I knew your suit would keep you safe... Or, so I hoped. It didn't work out well for security, though, did it. Sadly, the previous Echo didn't last long. So I thought maybe I should lend a hand. Let's just call it... my imagination. I sent your datapad the information from that dead and worthless one. Maybe you'll do a better job at piecing everything together.
Character Death/Respawn 2
Really... Again? Good thing you're a dime a dozen.
Character Death/Respawn 3
Useless... I'm not even going to bother speaking next time. Maybe once at least one of you will actually make it past security.
