When the player character first appears in the level, the character mesh appears discolored and too bright in Unreal 5.1 compared to how it did in Unreal 4.26. This effect only appears around the spawn point and it's more obvious towards the character's feet.
How to reproduce:
Launch the game with IsGameDebug? set to false in the map's BP_DebugGameSettings and wait until the character drops. You will see the discoloration on the character. It becomes more obvious as the character stands up.
How this was verified:
The most recent commit for the project in Unreal 4 did not have this issue. It was verified to happen after upgrading the project to Unreal 5.1 and it did not exist before.
A lighting bug effects the character mesh in BP_Character at the spawn point in Reclamation #2to A lighting bug effects the character mesh in BP_Character at the spawn point in ReclamationThis issue was fixed. It was caused by the decal M_Mod_Water_DCL_Tunnel_Inst that was placed below the character's spawn point. A commit will be pushed later to address multiple map related issues at the same time in order to avoid unnecessarily small map iterations.
This same bug also effected the oil stains on the bottom floor of each reclamation level. This was fixed by making the decal 10 units tall.
